New York City lights up each May as thousands of designers, architects, retailers, and enthusiasts flock annually to the epic tradeshow. This year’s event definitely battled less-than-stellar weather, but the show managed to turn out some new stars and showcase classic talent.

Some of the most interesting design to be seen in New York during ICFF maybe the “off-road” locations. Last Friday, I hoped on my bike and headed to the NoHo neighborhood and, more specifically, Great Jones Street to the old lumber building to check out NoHo Design District.

If you were given limitless possibilities, how would you personalize a white, letter-sized sheet of DuPont Corian? The surface manufacturer posed this concept to 25 renowned designers from across the globe in effort to curate an original exhibit honoring the 25th anniversary of French design magazine Intramuros. The exhibit, aptly titled “Carte Blanche,” showcases distinctive works produced from a single A4 sheet of Corian Designer White.

Last night, New York’s A&D Building, in conjunction with Interior Design, held its annual ICFF soiree, Opening Night. Hundreds of design-hungry attendees flocked to the design center ascending all 11 floors to see the season’s latest arrivals at each suite. Several manufacturers debuted fresh new showrooms, expansions, or renovations, and, while all were inspiring, one stood out as the highlight of the evening: Poliform.

The Brooklyn-based furniture design manufacturer recently teamed with crystal mogul Swarovski to create limited “Crystallized” editions of two of their most popular accents tables, the Omni and the Z. Each piece is hand made, numbered, and thoroughly adorned in multi-faceted, glittering crystals. The tables are available in white or black, in either a matte or high-polish finish.
