Belgian outdoor furniture manufacturer Royal Botania is challenging designers and artists from New York and the tri-state area to use its D-Lux chair as a blank canvas—for a cause. Entrants are tasked with turning the sleek design into an eye-catching artistic statement for a chance to have their entry auctioned off at the Design Trust for Public Space’s annual Art+Design Benefit Auction. The winner will score a ticket to the fête, which takes place this year on November 7 to the theme of “urban agriculture” and honors design heavyweight David Rockwell and restaurant entrepreneur Danny Meyer.

Entries can be submitted via email to usa@royalbotania.net until September 28, and must include a sketch or plan of the proposed design and the entrant’s contact information, including name, address, email, and telephone. Any questions regarding the contest should be directed to alexandra@novitapr.com. Look out for the winning design to be announced on Royal Botania’s Facebook page during the first week of October.
