UCLA’s Hammer Museum to Screen Rem Koolhaas Film

Architecture buffs looking to beat L.A.’s summer heat would do well to head to UCLA’s Hammer Museum to cool off and catch “Koolhaas Houselife” on August 3.

Part of Paris-based directors Ila Bêka and Louise Lemoine’s fascinating Living Architectures series of films, the 1998 documentary focuses on the famed Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas’s masterful House in Bordeaux in the French wine region. In a departure from many architecture docs, “Koolhaas Houselife” spends less time explaining the details of the building and more on the intimate daily experiences of those who work at one of the prime examples of cutting-edge contemporary architecture in recent years.

Tickets for the 58-minute movie in French with English subtitles are required but free and can be picked up at the Billy wilder Theater Box Office one hour prior to start time on a first come, first serve basis.
