An Intimate Evening with Fromental

The Trump SoHo in New York hosted an intimate gathering of industry insiders last night for cocktails and conversation with Fromental’s Tim Butcher. Launched in 2005, the London-based wall coverings and fabrics manufacturer already boasts offices stateside as well as representatives abroad in Hong Kong and Melbourne. Butcher, the company’s director and founder, flew in for last night’s meet and greet.
Butcher describes Fromental’s designs and production methods as unique and innovative, but he is careful not to divulge any of the company’s secrets. For example, he demurely compared the company’s production methods to Man Ray’s photography.
Fromental’s latest wall covering is “strongly influenced from time spent in the U.S,” Butcher says. “It is brutalist and raw, drawing inspiration from the mid-century modern forms of sculpture and architecture.”
So what’s next for Butcher and the company? His short answer: “World domination.”
