Direct from the 2011 International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show (IH/M&RS), decorated hospitality designers gathered yesterday morning for the 31st annual Gold Key Award breakfast at The Intercontinental Times Square. Emcee veterans Cindy Allen and Jeff Weinstein, editors in chief of Interior Design and Hotels, recognized eight lucky design firms with one of the hospitality market’s top awards.
NEWH, the Hospitality Industry Network, presented its seventh Icon of Industry Award to Fabricut, Inc. President Harvey Nudelman, and Santiago Arcila, a student at Kwantlen Polytechnic University and the program’s first male scholarship recipient, took home $5,000 presented in Nudelman’s name.
The winning projects were selected from a field of more than 150 projects representing 24 countries by judges Stephanie Goto, principal of Stephanie Goto, Carl D’Aquino, co-founder of D’Aquino Monaco, and Gerard Greene, CEO of Yotel.

Smashing Rockwell chandelier! It would be informative if the technology used for prize-winning lighting fixtures were told. That way, the most energy efficient procedures for each application could be known.
One size/type source/system does not fit all in lighting.
