NeoCon Announces 2011 Featured Speakers
by Ian Volner | Thursday, March 24, 2011
Design trade über-expo NeoCon has released the list of keynote speakers scheduled to appear this year at Chicago’s famed Merchandise Mart. And the speakers are…
Kicking off the festivities on June 13th will be eco-entrepreneur Matt Peterson, founding CEO of Global Green USA. One day later, film and television set-maker Amy Wells will take the podium, followed by automobile designer Henry Fisker. Ed Begley Jr., actor and environmentalist extraordinaire, will close out the show on the 15th.
These four featured guests join the ranks of designers and thinkers like Yves Behar (class of 2010), Paola Anotnelli (’09), and Ron Arad (’06), who have addressed NeoCon in years past. Like their predecessors, they’ll bring a sense scope and perspective to the contract furniture fair, while jockeying for attention with the more than 700 manufacturers of residential, office, and institutional furniture from around the world who will be descending upon Chicago for the annual revival.
The 40,000-plus industry professionals expected to follow them will able to take in the keynote programs for $25 a head; each speech garners the attendee 0.1 points of CEU credit, out of a total 140 points of accredited seminars and forums taking place around The Mart.
