Former Interior Design Managing Editor Dies at 89

Ann-WilsonAnn Wilson, former managing editor of Interior Design, passed away Thursday, January 26 in Mamaroneck, New York after a brief illness. She was 89 years old.

Wilson began her career in magazines at Architectural Digest, and went on to work for Architectural Forum, Architectural Plus, Interiors and, finally, Interior Design. She retired in 1992. Wilson is survived by her brother Albert Wilson of Crystal River, Fla. and nine nieces and nephews.

    Today, those of us with iphones have Siri. Back then those of us that had the privilege of working with her had the gracious and professional Ann Wilson. In a time without computer databases and search engines she was the go-to person for information. If you could not remember when an article was published or which designer had contributed a featured project she was the one to ask. And her wealth of knowledge extended beyond the pages of our magazine. Even in her late 60’s she would come up with the answer. She would often say something like “well, my memory is not quite what it used to be, but I think…” She was never wrong!
