Designers & Dogs: Patterns for PAWS with Thom Filicia
by | Wednesday, September 1, 2010

Fashion shows incorporating wallcoverings, textiles, and building materials have become quite the trend in the interior design industry from East Coast to West Coast. The Design Center of the Americas (DCOTA), however, has taken the concept a step further and will be decking out some pretty posh pooches on Wednesday, October 13.
Florida’s DCOTA will be the scene of Patterns for PAWS, the second annual canine fashion show and luncheon benefiting PAWS: People Helping Animals and the Humane Society of Broward County (HSBC).

Models with pedigree pups—as well as HSBC rescues—in tote will strut the runway, presenting a collection of couture canine looks designed by local interior designers and produced from textiles by manufacturers found at DCOTA showrooms.
Celebrity designer and tastemaker Thom Filicia will serve as host and emcee of the event. Filicia, a devout dog lover himself, recently launched an exclusive line of textiles with Kravet. The collection, along with many others, will be showcased at Patterns for PAWS via the runway and event décor.
