Jonathan Adler Takes London

Jonathan Adler London

Londoners eager to get their hands on Jonathan Adler’s Kiki de Montparnasse vase in 3-D reality versus the cold, virtual touch of digital technology will finally have the chance to fondle it among the wares of the designer’s first boutique beyond American borders, set to open on Sloane Avenue in London’s South Kensington in early October. Adler’s 15th free-standing venue will stretch 3,000 square feet over two floors and offer a hand-picked selection of his bedding, bath accessories, objects, pillows, and lighting. And while a British High Street clientele seems tailor-made to challenge the company’s motto, “If your heirs won’t fight over it, we won’t make it,” we’re guessing Adler’s ultimate goal is to enter the collection of particularly prominent design-minded neighbor—the Victoria and Albert Museum.
