Foscarini Snakes Through ICFF With “Evolution”

In preparation for the launch of their first U.S. showroom, Italian lighting manufacturer Foscarini is rockin’ a totally tubular art installation in their new SoHo digs.
The temporary fixture—on display during ICFF, from May 14-17—showcases a vast collection of Marc Sadler’s 2008 Tress lamps in vibrant red, snaking from the showroom windows to the rear of the new, raw space at 17 Greene Street in New York.
“Although Foscarini lamps have been in [the U.S.] through independent retailers for a number of years, this installation will give us an opportunity to demonstrate this other creative side to the brand,” says Glenn Ludwig, CEO of Foscarini USA. “While one Foscarini lamp always works beautifully to transform a home, many together have the power, visual, and emotional impact to fill much larger spaces.”
Produced in accordance with the manufacturer’s program called “Foscarini Evolution,” such exhibitions, which have been held across the globe, provide custom light sculptures in public spaces. Through this program, designers and architects receive creative license to use Foscarini fixtures in ways to create a multi-sensory experience for its visitors.
