Tom Lipop for Selfridges

“Our window was so narrow, the composition had to feel right at every point,” says menswear and accessories designer Tom Lipop of his first-ever window installation, commissioned for Selfridges‘ Brought Young Things installation series in London. To represent his history-inspired line of progressively cut minimal clothing, he developed a whitewashed scheme that was no less dynamic for its lack of color. “It’s a simplistic approach, but is technically very complex,” he says. In fact, the balance of playfulness and danger, nature and technology, and sleek and rough achieves maximum effect.

The composition – brilliant. The idea may not be understood initially that makes it very interesting. But with the cool representation of elements on this display, audience won’t bother digging deeper.
